The Mount Carmel School of Ministry (SOM) was established in the year 2000 as an intensive immersion into modern Israel for Christians from every nation. The original vision was to provide an alternative to the standard “Holy Land” tour where Christian pilgrims rarely met a local Messianic believer and never had the opportunity to worship in an Israeli Messianic congregation. The SOM was designed to bring Christians into a vibrant local community of believing Jews and Arabs for fellowship and teaching, and show them the sites of biblical significance in Israel through the eyes of the local body. Back in 2000, our first guest speaker was Bible teacher Derek Prince and in the following years, thousands came from many nations to participate in the program.
The COVID pandemic that engulfed the world in 2020 and the war in Gaza which erupted in 2023, forced us to suspend these programs for a season. As we emerge from these difficult years, we are relaunching the SOM with a new name but having the same vision to reach Christians seeking biblical truth in the land that Yeshua called home. The new program is called the Carmel Experience.
The Carmel Experience features worship and prayer together with our Carmel community, anointed biblical teaching from local leaders and a guided tour of Israel with a licensed Messianic guide. As we see the deception of replacement theology in the church today and the dramatic rise of anti-semitism, there is clearly an urgent need for greater understanding and revelation of end-time truth. The Carmel Experience will be an experience in Israel that is designed to be extremely significant to Christian believers in this rapidly changing world.
